Technical Program Manager, Android Pixel (New Devices) - Google (California)
Minimum qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
* 3 years of experience as a Program Manager or as an Engineering Manager.
* 2 years of experience as a practicing engineer in a relevant technical domain.
Preferred qualifications:
* Master's degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering.
* 6 years of relevant work experience including 4 years of industry experience in managing large, complex projects.
* Experience writing system level software, working with operating systems, mobile networks and delivering consumer electronics.
* Experience debugging tough technical issues that cross boundaries between Hardware, Software and Network teams.
* Expert at the practical application of program management principles and tools.
* Track record of quickly earning credibility based on your knowledge, flexibility and amazing accomplishments, as well as possessing fantastic communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you lead complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects using your engineering expertise. You plan requirements with internal customers and usher projects through the entire project lifecycle. This includes managing project schedules, identifying risks and clearly communicating them to project stakeholders. You're equally at home explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical trade-offs in product development with engineers.

* Manage the product life cycle of one or more Pixel device(s) (phone, tablet, etc.). Plan and deliver major and minor releases for Pixel devices.
* Work closely with many teams including Android Engineering, Android Release, Google-wide Product Engineering teams, external Chipset vendors and OEM Partners, QA, Support etc., both locally and remotely.
* Focus on the user experience and champion the Android/Pixel quality bar internally, as well as with OEM partners to ensure we maintain a great product.
* Seek out all necessary schedule inputs and develop a solid, defensible plan for release and keep the team tracking to it.
* Manage communication of progress/status within the core team and externally (customers, partners, etc.) and escalate issues as necessary.
