Minimum qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.

* 5 years of experience in front end and back end consumer software development.

* Experience in leading a software development team.

Preferred qualifications:

* Experience with the full web stack, including Java, JavaScript, Scripting and Distributed Systems.

* Experience in digital AV, video and audio codecs, mobile devices or media players.

* Familiarity with backend and video delivery platforms (e.g., transport streams and DRM systems).

* Manage and grow a Software Development team.

* Lead the design and architecture for the next generation of Google Fiber TV. Prototype new technologies to deliver the best home entertainment experience, while combining traditional TV and streaming OTT experiences.

* Work with the Network Support Operations team to design and build an efficient support model. Escalate customer issues as they arise.

* Work with Product Managers and User Experience teams. Participate in discussions with Google Fiber leadership to shape Google Fiber’s future product strategy and technical roadmap.

* Provide thought leadership on how to best adopt internal Google technologies and external 3rd-party technologies.
