Opportunity

We are currently seeking candidates for bridge Construction Inspector in Petaluma and potentially other opportunities throughout the North Bay with a minimum of 5 years’ experience specializing in heavy civil and roadway structures (bridges, retaining walls, soundwalls, culverts or any other structures related to roadway projects.). A bachelor’s degree with 2 year’s experience will also be considered. Familiarity with federally funded documentation procedures (Caltrans procedures), and ability to prepare reports using excel or project management software are highly valued skills for this position. Experience as a roadway inspector and familiarity with MUTCD is a plus. This position may require travel.

Responsibilities

+ Provide daily site inspections to verify compliance with approved plans, specifications and codes

+ Coordinate in the field with clients/owners, consultants, contractors, designers and regulatory agencies

+ Measure and record pay quantities

+ Prepare daily reports

+ Review the Contractor's schedule

+ Labor compliance

+ Coordinate 3rd-party special material testing inspections

+ Review and provide input on potential change order issues

+ Maintain project records

+ Manage project photographic records

+ Verification of field surveys

Qualifications

+ High School diploma/GED with a minimum seven years construction experience,

+ or Bachelor Degree with a minimum five years construction experience or equivalent

+ Inspection certifications preferred

+ Knowledge and experience with the following:

+ Computers, computer applications, and computer software programs in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, or equivalent)

+ Equipment used in inspection, surveying, and construction office engineering
