The Production Expeditor is a diverse position responsible for a variety of functions required to properly support theProduction Control, Stockroom, and Procurement departments. Performs planning, scheduling, and supporting of production requirements, processes incoming materials, and follows-up on purchase orders with suppliers.

This position reports to the Logistics Supervisor.

Functions as a liaison between engineering, purchasing, manufacturing, program management, shipping/receiving, and stockroom.

Prepares, distributes, and utilizes drawing packages and requirements from engineering, enters manufacturing requirements into MRP system, and creates requisitions and work orders.

Receives, processes, adjusts and labels incoming materials, and places materials in appropriate stockroom locations.

Processes engineering change notice (ECN) and effectively communicates requirements to purchasing and manufacturing personnel via purchase order change notice.

Identifies, maintains, and follows up with internal customers regarding material shortages.

Supports resolving supplier issues with respect to product on-time delivery schedules and vendor concerns/complaints.

Performs project closures, processing of cycle counts, and “loan of part” requests.

Prepares product for shipment. Verifies receipt and shipment of materials and manufactured products; performs material handling and in-house delivery services. Loads and unloads trucks.

Assists purchasing, warehouse, and production with material movement.

Supports Procurement with the management of purchase order schedules to ensure timely delivery

High School Diploma or GED required.

Basic understanding of manufacturing or engineering processes is required.

Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills to interface with all departments.

Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.

Working knowledge of Material Requirements Planning (MRP), MRB, EO’s, ECN’s, and creation of manufacturing work orders preferred.

Must have strong organizational and interpersonal skills.

Basic knowledge and experience using hand tools required.

Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Must be willing and able to obtain forklift certification.

Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy is required.
