Compliance Manager

Job Description Summary

Responsible for managing the execution and coordination of the compliance function at the banking Business Unit level primarily related to credit products and lending regulation. Manages the review and interpretation of new and pending laws and regulations, which potentially affects the business practices for the assigned group and manages a team that participates in all Commercial Banking projects related to lending including systems and processing/documentation of credit applications and transactions.

Essential Job Functions

1. Provides a leadership role in implementing policies, standards and procedures specific to the needs of the Business Units aligned with the Bank's Corporate Compliance program

2. Advises on regulatory application for existing and new products, addresses requirements under the Compliance program framework, aides 1st LOD to ensure appropriate controls in place and risk assessment accurate and complete.

3. Works with management and staff in areas of the organization affected by alterations in business practices to ensure understanding and implementation of new controls, QC/QA, policies and procedures.

4. Collaborates with business leaders and Compliance SMEs to identify issues, generate solutions, and ensure actions are within regulatory framework. Provides advice and guidance to the 1st Line of Defense on remediation/corrective actions

5. Manages and/or performs periodic 2nd LOD monitoring to determine effectiveness of BUs 1st LOD controls.

6. Prepare metrics and other high level MIS reporting for Senior Management in Corporate Compliance. Ensures reporting is prepared and submitted timely, in coordination with other Bank units and BNP Paribas Group.

7. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field - Required Managed staff- preferred Requires practical knowledge in leading and managing the execution of processes, projects and tactics within banking areas. Typically has advanced knowledge and skills within the Compliance and Regulatory Ris discipline with understanding of the impact of work on other areas of the organization. Requires 10 years minimum prior relevant experience especially related to regulations pertaining to credit products and transactions.
