The Varian employee support is for engineering, manufacturing, testing, installation, & customer service functions involving medical LINACs, brachytherapy units, cyclotrons for proton therapy in North and Latin America.

Responsibilities to include:

+ Assists in the preparation of regulatory documentation for various state and federal radiation generating machine registrations and radioactive material licenses.

+ Supports manufacturing and education facilities by ensuring the timely performance of shielding surveys, monitoring dose reports, and creating, maintaining, and updating radiation safety training.

+ Performs leak tests and inventories as required by regulation.

+ Guides and instructs radiation workers in the proper use of PPE, instrumentation, and ALARA concepts.

+ Submits requests for payment to ensure registrations and licenses are renewed in a timely manner.

+ Performs RAM package receipt and shipping per DOT/IATA regulations.

+ Familiar with 10 CFR 20, California Code of Regulations Title 17, and other state radiation protection regulations as applicable.

Minimum Required Skills and Knowledge:

+ Experience: Bachelors degree (or equivalent experience) and 5 years of related experience or Masters Degree with 3 years of related experience.

+ Experience with radiation safety

+ Experience supporting entire radiation safety program (radioactive material, training materials, and machine registration)

+ Strong manufacturing background
