Position Summary
This position is responsible for working with wholesale distributors and independent grocery retailers with planning promotional activity, selling new products, and merchandising.
Job Functions
Responsible for annual volume / profit objectives and additional goals as defined
Create sales programs and make presentations to customers within area
Develop relationships with key personnel with assigned accounts
Manage and direct multiple brokers - assign annual Sales and P&L objectives
Responsible for managing Trade Spend - promotions and pricing
Work with Nielsen data and Marketing department to create sales opportunities
Responsible for store calls, periodic price checking and slotting for Bar-S Foods Co. and competitor products
Responsible for managing Accounts Receivable
Provide sales support through direct store contact and affiliation
Management of Sales Programs including but not limited to the creation of monthly and quarterly programs, holiday programs and special presentations as required
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED
3-5 years of related sales experience or direct experience driving mix and margin of meat sales in an independent retail sales environment
Experience presenting data to new and prospective customers
Excellent computer skills (MS Office)
Excellent communication skills a necessity
Must be self-motivated, have a good work ethic, be dependable and organized
Must possess exceptional people skills and the ability to follow projects to completion
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree
Nielsen Product Analysis
2 years’ experience in Food Industry preferable in meat sales
