About The Team:
Results and profit oriented underwriting in domestic E&S Property market with strong emphasis on Nat Cat exposures sourced from wholesale brokers nationally.
About The Role:
Discusses & negotiates individual deals with clients and brokers. Analyses and assesses technical insurability regarding exposures and coverage on new offer and renewal submissions Prepares quotations, structures programs, and offers proposals in accordance with guidelines Uses SR tools and systems for the development of terms and conditions Enters and maintains risk information into the various information systems and administers the accounts Develop and maintain a relationship with wholesale brokers which includes regular, effective marketing efforts and communications. Profitably grow and maintain a book of business, paying particular attention to severity, loss ratio, and profile of business written.Representation activities:
Represents SR in meetings with wholesale brokers, and other SR Group entitiesInteraction with other parties: (internal / external contacts, suppliers and providers of this position)
Regular contact with brokers requiring technical know-how, negotiation and language skills, initiative and service orientation Works effectively within underwriting team environment Works effectively with underwriting assistant and other underwritersThe position location is flexible to one of the following offices: Los Angeles or San Francisco.
About You:
Proficient use of the English language. 2 – 5 years underwriting experience or equivalent. Sales and negotiating skills in placement of E&S Property placements Knowledge and proficiency in the use of underwriting tools, applications, and guidelines Keeps abreast of market environment and trends Excellent sales/marketing and communication skills Ability to work in a team environment Irregular workload, sometimes hectic and with very short response times Willingness to expend extra efforts to cover peak workloadsThe Company is an equal opportunity employer.
