Digital Workspace Technology Strategist - End User Computing Pursuit Team- AMER Sales
The Modern Management Digital Workspace Technology Strategist is responsible for leading the analysis, development and implementation of pursuit/technology plans for VMware’s strategic and global EUC accounts. This role focuses on developing transformational pursuits to Modern/Win10 management for our most strategic customers. Pursuit plans include: analysis of VMware’s customer Business Issues, thorough understanding of the relationship between VMware solutions and Business Issues, mapping technology to those Business Issues and the joint creation of Value Propositions and Close Plans with the Account/Specialist team. The Strategist collaborates and coordinates with VMware Account Leadership, End-User business leaders, SET and Sales Specialists, DTS and the VMware partner eco-system (VARS and System Integrators). The Digital Workspace Technology Strategist must be capable of discussing both business and transformational issues at the “C”, VP or Director Level with either the end-user or partner or both.
The Digital Workspace Technology Strategist must be able translate business issues/requirements, VMware solution capabilities and value, into a pursuit plan that includes business case analysis, technical strategy, value propositions, customer engagement models and a schedule to achieve desired pursuit goals.
The role requires a seasoned and effective strategist and communicator who can work collaboratively, as part of a team, is well organized, self-motivated and success driven. Requires drive, determination and willingness to succeed and is capable of leading the effort to achieve the company’s sales goals and pursuit efforts at a high level of output, quality and success.
This position can be based anywhere in the US.
Responsibilities:
- Work in partnership with Account Sales leadership and team members to fully understand the Strategic Goals and Account Plans and provide opportunity pursuit leadership
- Engage and build relationships with CxO and VP level positions in our Strategic and Global customers, providing strategy and solutions surrounding VMware EUC technologies
- Provide business solution mapping with architectural guidance and oversight into integration of VMware and third party products within customers IT environment
- Assist customer with the definition of measurable success criteria to assist with the development of a SOW, Pilot, or POC document
- Build and maintain the confidence of colleagues, managers, and customers
Requirements:
- Must have the ability to work in a fast paced environment demonstrating autonomy in conforming to strategic intent while adhering to team values at all times
10+ years of relevant IT experience (desktop management, AD, networking, management, monitoring, security, performance, capacity, availability, databases)
- 10+ years experience in customer-facing or strategic positions working on large complex systems management platforms.
- 5+ years experience in infrastructure architecture and design of Active Directory and desktop systems deployment, workspace services and single sign-on technologies
- 3+ years experience in business mobility, MDM, MAM and EMM
- Experience producing business relevant presentations and strategic plans
- Experience with application virtualization or electronic software distribution management systems (e.g., Microsoft SMS/SCCM)
- Demonstrated project leadership experience
- Experience with systems management concepts, processes and standards, capacity/performance management and tuning; and storage and network management
- Excellent communications and interpersonal skills, especially public speaking and presentation skills
- Ability to effectively work remotely and travel as needed to achieve goals
- B.S./B.A./M.S. degree or equivalent technical training
