Senior Learning & Development Specialist - Highland General Hospital (California)

JOB SUMMARY: The Senior Learning & Development (L&D) Specialist designs, implements, evaluates, and provides ongoing program management of large-scale training, learning, and leadership development programs to support organizational initiatives and build skills for AHS leaders, physicians, and staff. The Sr. L&D Specialist also supports AHS leaders with individual and staff learning, and development and on-boarding Performs related duties as required.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The following are the duties performed by employees in this classification. However, employees may perform other related duties at an equivalent level. Not all duties listed are necessarily performed by each individual in the classification.

+ Supports organization-wide initiatives with strategic design, implementation, and ongoing program management for learning and training programs at staff and leader level.

+ Designs, implements, and manages leadership, management, and employee training programs.

+ Delivers and facilitate classroom, virtual, and online learning, and training.

+ Consults with stakeholder groups to assess and analyze learning and training needs, identify delivery methods, and insure successful and sustainable implementation.

+ Designs, delivers, and manages new leader on-boarding program.

+ Utilizes various modalities (i.e. online, instructor-led, blended, mobile, etc.) and follow-on supporting tools and

job aids when designing learning and training programs.

+ Evaluates, selects, and manages a pool of resources (vendors, external trainers and consultants, content

providers, etc.) to support learning and training needs.

+ Serves as a master trainer to provide training to internal or external resources deployed to training and learning

initiatives.

+ Implements communication and change management principles and tactics to ensure adoption and participation.

+ Designs and maintains evaluation metrics and tools to monitor training and program effectiveness and utilizes

data to make improvements, ensuring appropriate documentation of education programs by maintaining course records to document participation and to comply with regulatory requirements.

+ Leads advisory councils and/or engages stakeholders (when appropriate) to support design and implementation of learning and training programs.

+ Supports leaders with learning and development needs for themselves or their staff.

+ Support and participate in OE interventions and projects.

+ Support design and delivery, and management of succession planning and high potential development programs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Bachelor’s degree required preferably with emphasis in Human Resources, Business Administration, Liberal Arts (psychology, sociology), education, industrial psychology, or organizational development.

Minimum Experience: Seven years of OD/LD proficiency with demonstrated experience in conducting needs assessment, designing, implementing, and managing learning and training programs for a diverse client group consisting of leadership and staff level positions.

Healthcare and/or clinical experience and LEAN/process

improvement strongly preferred.

PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES: Certified Professional in Learning & Performance (CPLP), executive

coaching certification, Achieve Global certification, DiSC, MBTI certification, Emotional Intelligence, experience in delivering 360-degree leadership feedback.
