Lending Manager - Orange County / Los Angeles CA Area - JPMorgan Chase (California)

The Home Lending Manager is responsible for leading a bank/mortgage geography as assigned. As a Home Lending Manager you will be responsible for executing on the strategic business plan to promote and market the firm's mortgage products to clients, team members and partners inside and outside the branch footprint, attain mortgage lending goals, generate profit and manage and grow a team of Home Lending Advisors. Specifically, there are three areas of major focus:

Manage/Grow Retail Mortgage Production

#1 Goal - Establish Retail Mortgage as the Premier Branch Partner (In Footprint territories)

Develop partnership/working relationship with Bank Market & District Managers

Ensure flawless execution by mortgage team of the coverage model and all Mortgage Banker behaviors; recommend changes as necessary to ensure right number of Home Lending Advisors and right personnel

Enlist feedback from bank management and individual branch/survey results

Participate actively in all Bank Business Reviews

Meet CRA requirements

Leverage outside branch mortgage opportunities to bring customers to the bank

Partner w/Operations and Underwriting to ensure great customer service and high-quality originations

Be responsible and accountable for compliance in all aspects of your geography

Partner with Emerging Markets and Business Development to leverage all mortgage opportunities in assigned geography

Leadership Management

Attract, retain and develop Home Lending Advisors who thrive in Chase's business model

Provide overall sales leadership throughout the region. Model and coach key behaviors (In Footprint territories):

o Work the lobby, review DNDs, use Contact Manager, participate in huddles

o Inspect what is expected, wear the Chase blue, and be in the field

o Monitor that exemplary customer service is exhibited by entire sales team

Ensure effective education and employee development throughout region

Develop and ensure successful execution of Home Lending Advisor business plans

Financial Results

Achieve Production Targets (if in footprint, then bank and overall mortgage production goals)

This position is subject to the Dodd Frank/Truth in Lending Act qualification requirements for Loan Originators. As such, an employment offer for this position is contingent on JPMC's review of your criminal conviction history, credit report, information available through NMLS, and any other information relevant to a determination by JPMC that you demonstrate financial responsibility, good character, and general fitness for the position. Note that any felony conviction within the last seven years will disqualify you from consideration for this position. Your continued employment in this position would be contingent upon compliance with Truth in Lending Act/Dodd Frank Loan Originator requirements.

In addition, this position requires National Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLS) registration under the SAFE Act of 2008. As such, upon active employment with JPMorgan Chase, you will be required to either register on NMLS, or to update your existing registration as necessary to grant access to and reflect your employment with JPMorgan Chase. Your continued employment in this position with JPMorgan Chase is contingent upon compliance with the SAFE Act, including successful registration immediately after your start date, and timely completion of annual renewal and required updates thereafter.

Qualifications

Minimum of five years of sales management experience in mortgage lending/originations/banking required

Experience building strong relationships with internal business partners to achieve success

Excellent working knowledge of the originations market including conforming, non-conforming, and home equity as well as competitor product, pricing, and business strategies

Strong knowledge of current environment underwriting standards (e.g. Fannie and Freddie) and loan fulfillment processes

Experience working in a retail bank, cross selling to mortgage customers

Excellent P&L management skills with substantial experience leading a profitable retail business and executing a strategic business plan

Proven track record of successfully managing 10 or more remote Home Lending Advisors

Ability to successfully recruit, interview, hire, develop and retain Home Lending Advisors

Proven ability to lead, model, coach, and mentor all levels of sales and sales management

Excellent written and oral communication skills

Strong PC skills required

College degree preferred
