Material Prep Technician

Fast paced growing manufacturing company looking for quick learning, self-starters in search of an entry level Material Prep Technician responsible for operating equipment in order to produce products to customer requirement with some supervision.

Responsibilities:

+ Sets-up and operates equipment to produce products that meet internal customer specifications. Inspects parts against requirements.

+ Completes all paper or computer-based reporting on jobs or parts as required in a timely and accurate manner.

+ Documents manufacturing processes and procedures for new or newly revised product designs.

+ Identifies and communicates opportunities to improve manufacturing processes in support of efforts to increase standardization, reduce costs, reduce cycle times, improve safety etc.

+ Assists management and supervision in implementing process improvement initiatives.

+ Cleans and organizes workstations, equipment, and tools.

+ Operates all equipment and machinery and perform all activities according to established safety standards.

+ Performs preventive maintenance on machines/equipment. Identifies and relates repair needs to maintenance/supervision.

Skills and Essential Functions:

+ Knowledge of mathematics, including some algebra.

+ Typically stands and moves about for entire work shift to operate equipment and fulfill job responsibilities. Includes walking, climbing stairs, stooping, bending, reaching, squatting, pushing and pulling and repetitive hand, arm, wrist and leg motions.

+ Frequently walks inside and outside to access other production buildings.

+ Frequently talks to and listens to co-workers and supervisors regarding product status and issues. Communication is face to face or via telephone.

+ Maintains a friendly, stable, cooperative demeanor.

+ Frequently transports products from and to production areas with weight of up to 50 lbs.

+ Constantly uses required personal protective safety equipment including eye protection, hearing protection, steel-toed shoes, breathing device/respirator equipment (as required).
