Sr. Cloud Software Developer/Engineer - National Library of Medicine - General Dynamics Information Technology (California)

GDIT is looking for a Software Developer/Engineer to join our Cloud Engineering and Migration team to support cloud migration projects for one of our federal customers, the National Institute of Health (NIH) National Library of Medicine (NLM). You will work with a team of developers, architects, and Subject Matter Experts to develop and migrate applications into the Cloud. You should have a strong understanding of AWS technologies, application, software services, database, and hands-on development experience. We are looking for a highly motivated professional, self-starter, who embraces the DevOps culture, and can deliver with minimal guidance.
In this role, a typical day will include:
+ Collaborating with NIH-NLM Teams for application migrations into the cloud
+ Research, Design, Develop, Test and Deploy applications using AWS IaaS, PaaS services, tools and technologies to support Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery Pipelines into the Cloud
+ Configuring and integrating applications/systems at the Application layer, Middle layer, Data layer, and Network layer in the Cloud
+ Writing documentation for automated processes, playbooks, plans, procedures, test cases and results
+ Logging and documenting tickets in the tracking system
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
+ Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline
+ Experience implementing, migrating, managing, and operating systems/applications in a DevOps environment
+ Minimum of five years of experience in application development and scripting using Java, Java Scripts, Ruby, Bash, Perl, PHP, Python, Lambda, and Shell Scripting
+ Experience developing, testing and integrating APIs / Interfaces using JSON, XML, and YAML
+ Experience developing, testing, debugging and integrating Web Services using REST APIs, XML, SOAP and other protocols
+ Experience with tools such as BitBucket, Artifactory, and Bamboo for source control, branching and merging, automated unit testing, automated build tools, artifact management, and automated deployments
+ Experience using Agile Scrum/Kanban methodologies in a cross-functional team environment using JIRA and Confluence
+ Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
+ Experience in designing and developing DevSecOps/DevOps pipeline/automation scripts to support Continuous Integration & Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) processes
+ Experience with AWS (VPC, EC2, EBS, Elastic Beanstalk, Application Load Balancers, etc.) services, AWS RDS & traditional databases, including Aurora, MySQL, Postgres, MongoDB, Oracle & SQL
+ Hands-on experience and/or familiarity with tools such as Checkmarx, SonarQube, NetSparker, Cucumber, JMeter, Selenium, and Postman
+ Providing support to assist in obtaining application and system level Authorize to Operate (ATO)
+ Experience with containers/Docker/Kubernetes and/or EKS
+ Experience with web technologies, such as Apache, Tomcat, Node.js, Angular.
+ AWS Certifications
