Utilization Management Assistant

Are you ready to return to work? Do you have experience with utilization management of medical insurance claims, denials and authorizations? We are looking for you!!

Start Date: ASAP

Duration: 6+ months - can be extended or converted to a permanent position

Job Title: Utilization Management Assistant

Openings: 2

- training will be on-site but may be able to work from home after training

Pay: $ 20-22 per hour (W2)

Shift: Monday - Friday, 8am to 5pm

Responsibilities:

Review patient files for completeness before health insurance review for procedure approvals.

Obtain information if needed, including: Supporting clinical documentation, ICD-10, CPT, or HCPC codes.

Assist in gathering clinical information needed to prove the medical necessity of patient procedure to send to health insurance company

Communicates with physician offices, processing staff, and other departments as needed to get information for approval of procedure.

Initiates Information Member Notice based on benefit or eligibility and supports the issuing of denial letter processn if needed

Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Skills:

1yr - Experience in a hospital, health insurance company or medical office/clinic setting

1yr - Experience in utilization management or case management with experience in medical terminology and coding.

High School Diploma/GED
