Senior Software Engineer/MBSE- Navy - Peraton Corporation (California)

Overview

Peraton is seeking a Junior to Mid - Level C/ C++ Software Developer to provide software development and sustainment services for the Department of Defense (DoD) and the Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Pacific located in San Diego, CA, in support of the Common Control System (CCS) project.

The Peraton team will support on-going/recurring delivery of designated Unmanned Vehicle computer software products, to customize those products to meet requirements, and to provide integration, test, security activities, information assurance/cybersecurity certification, deployment, mission operations, and logistics services. The CCS was designated as the Navy’s Unmanned Vehicles (UxV) Control Station Solution by Deputy Chief of Naval Operations for Warfare Systems (N9) in January of 2019. Currently, CCS provides software in support the Program Executive Office (PEO) for Unmanned Aviation and Strike Weapons (U&W) developmental and existing Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS). In the future CCS will control vehicles across all domains – air, land, surface and subsurface.

Responsibilities

Some of the responsibilities will include:

+ Working within an AGILE/SCRUM team conducting the development of software (using at a minimum C++, Java, and JSON) and system & software architectures that reside in a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) environment

+ Working with the development, integration and implementation of model based systems engineering (MBSE) models using Rational System Architect (RSA), and Cameo Systems Modeler. This experience includes having the models auto generate code (C++ and/or Java) as part of an automated development/operations (DevOps) environment

+ Applying DevOps principles and methodologies such as continuous integration, test automation, and deployment automation, and utilizing enabling technologies such as those found in the DI2E and NIWC Pacific Collaborative Software Armory (CSA) environments.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

+ A Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, physics, or related field

+ Two years of experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) modeling using No Magic Cameo Systems Modeler (MagicDraw)

+ 8 years expereince in software engineering

+ 2 years of technical leadership experience

+ Ability to obtain a Secret clearance which requires US citizenship

Desired Qualifications:

+ Software development experience with VLT, C++ and/or Java

+ Familiarity with software and systems engineering practices (i.e. Agile methodologies such as DevOps or DevSecOps)

+ Experience with requirements analysis, requirements decomposition methods, requirements gap analysis methods, and requirements management methods (ideally within MagicDraw and/or DOORs)

+ UAF and SysML knowledge

+ Experience using Teamwork Cloud (Naval IME experience preferred)

+ DoD Experience

+ An Active Secret clearance
