Route Merchindiser - Dominion Enterprises - San Leandro, CA

General Description: Under direct supervision of the Regional Manager or General Manager, is responsible for the timely delivery of all free publications in the Dominion Distribution program. Full Time Merchandiser is accountable for the maintenance and up keep of the Dominion Distribution display, insures the most high visible traffic position of the display near the stores entrance or exit door, follows the publication draw amounts on the route sheet and merchandises the publisher publication per the billing schematic occupying pocket space on the display. This position is expected to work independently, hourly position, 40 hours per week, 4 days per week.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities: Ensures quality distribution of all free publications assigned to a defined geographic area. Accurately completes and returns the route sheet with inventory/drop counts at each distribution location. Monitors the location of the display at each distribution location and notifies Regional Manager or General Manager of any changes or concerns to the display. Full Time Merchandiser is responsible for the cleanliness of the display, responsible for merchandising all the assigned pocket labels to each pocket, and repairing any equipment on the display. Each store visit will require that the display be merchandised to the Regional Managers standard. Full Time Merchandisers will be required to replace old displays, pick up displays in the event a retailer closes a store or remodels a store, upsize or downsize displays as required and is required to set up new displays in the designated geographic territory.

Reports on time to the Dominion Distribution warehouse as directed by the Regional Manager or General Manager. Full Time Merchandiser obtains route sheets, follows load sheet instructions, and maintains full stock of pocket labels, cleaning equipment, and any other items or instructions necessary to complete the route. Required to remove all violating free publications from the display for return to the warehouse. Notifies Regional Manager or General Manager when and where violating publications are found. Full Time Merchandisers are accountable for all free publication returns. Full Time Merchandisers do not discard any free publications in the trash prior to the expiration date or in receptacles on any of our retail sites. Full Time Merchandiser will be accountable for their area of any retailer concerns or #800 retail calls. Recommends to the GM when draws can be increased or decreased. It is the responsibility of the Full Time Merchandiser to maintain a clean, safe, and secure, warehouse.

Required to attend the General Manager’s meetings. Maintains upkeep of the Dominion Distribution uniform issued and wears it on all assigned route days. Full Time Merchandiser adheres to all company conduct guidelines and established standards.

Required Skills: Effective organizational and interpersonal skills. Customer service orientated. Must have valid drivers license. Must pass drug test and have a clean criminal background. Minimal computer experience is required. Ability to lift and carry up to 20-40 lbs. Ability to push or pull a pallet of free magazines. May require certification of forklift.
