Social Media/PR Specialist - AroundWire - Reseda, CA

Job Description


Aroundwire.com is looking for a full-time PR Specialist to help us engage our audience, develop a cohesive brand and generate interest as we move toward launch.


As a start-up company, we are interested in passionate, upwardly mobile applicants who possess a strong sense of creativity.


Responsibilities


As a PR Specialist, you will be responsible for the following tasks:


Social Media

Work with us to develop, implement and manage a strategy for our social media accounts.Create and distribute compelling content that will target our audience and stimulates interest in what we offer.Analyze our social media efforts and track the success of our campaigns.Guest posting on forums and other outlets.Sign-up management/growth hacking.Monitor social networks, blogs and forums.

Brand Awareness/Member Engagement

Write, edit and distribute email blasts and other announcements.Collaborate with our writing team to create and disseminate press releases and other materials.Media outreachInteract with our members through multiple social media platforms.Help insure that we develop and maintain positive relationships with our brand ambassadors.

Basic Qualifications

Considerable experience working in social media or Public relations.Strong writing and verbal communication skills.Proven ability to develop and manage a cohesive brand strategy.An online portfolio of print, digital and social media work.Demonstrated ability to work in a start-up environment… in other words, be team-oriented, personable, and willing to pitch in and help wherever needed.Proficient with Microsoft Office and similar applications.Borderline obsessive attention to detail (strong grammar and punctuation skills are required).Ability to communicate a consistent and compelling message.Familiarity with HootSuite, TweetDeck or another social media management tool is preferred.Understanding of AP style is preferred.Capacity for personal growth and improvement.

Experience and Education

A degree in Marketing, Communications or Journalism.At least three years working in social media, public relations, or a related field.Relationships with bloggers a big plus.

Compensation


This is a full-time position with excellent growth potential. Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience.


Additional Information


Prospective candidates must be local to the Los Angeles area and able to commute to Reseda, CA. Telecommuters need not apply. In addition, we ask that you are a happy and relatively well-adjusted human being.
