Systems Engineer III - BAE Systems (California)

Job Description

The Systems Engineer III at Los Angeles AFB, CA supporting the US Space Force (USSF) Space and Missile Systems Center (SMC), Launch Enterprise Directorate (SMC/ECL) Systems Engineering and Integration (SE&I) Contract performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, evaluates alternatives including cost, risk, supportability and analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of product requirements into total systems solutions. Translates customer requirements into hardware/software specifications.

Experience in preparing, updating, assessing compliance, support tailoring and baseline control of SMC/ECL systems engineering documents, Focal point for handling LEE taskers, Responsible for updates to the SPRD, SIS, LCSP, SEP, RMP, SMC/LE Process Guide, Tailoring and baseline control of compliance and standards documents, SMC/ECL taskers, etc. Supports AFSPC Capabilities Production Document (CPD) updates, ConOps and Operating Concepts, Assess and SMC/ECL internal compliance with the approved SMC/ECL systems engineering documents, Supports staffing and Technical Review Board (TRB)/ Configuration Control Board (CCB) approval, Supports ChERB, MAC, MAF, TRB, CCB and LCSG, and Support future launch systems architecture non-recurring engineering requirements as a part of the larger Launch Enterprise mission assurance efforts; which includes architecture verifications and design validations.

Knowledge- Exhibits an exceptional degree of ingenuity, creativity and resourcefulness. Applies and/or develops highly advanced concepts, techniques and standards. Viewed as expert in the field outside of the corporation.

Contacts-Contacts are frequent with individuals representing other departments, and/or representing outside organizations. Contacts involve obtaining or providing information or data on matters of moderate importance to the function of the department or which may be of sensitive nature.

Impact- Decisions affect the financial, employee or public relations posture of the organization. Erroneous decisions or recommendations would have a long-term negative effect on organization s reputation and business posture.

Liaison- Serves as consultant to top management in long-range company planning or spokesperson on advanced projects and/or programs. Prime external spokesperson for the organization on highly significant matters relating to policies, programs, capabilities and long-range goals and objectives.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

Education Level: Minimum: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering or STEM-related field

Experience: Minimum: 10-years experience for Bachelors

Proposed: 12-years experience for Bachelors, 10-years experience for Masters, and 8-years experience for PhD.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
