Summary
We are seeking a part-time Technical Training Instructional Designer who has experience developing e-Learning and/or Instructor-Led workshop solutions. The ideal candidate has the ability to develop new technical training curriculum for automotive OEMs, including for new model launches, new technologies and basic automotive fundamentals. The role includes partnering with our team of Account Managers, Graphic Designers, Production and our OEM clients, beginning with a project kick-off. Responsibilities include review of client materials, developing a course outline, storyboards, eLearning production notes and, in the case of instructor-led training, training workbooks. The candidate is expected to have expertise in automotive technology and instructional design.
Responsibilities
+ Partner with MSX Account Team and clients to design engaging and effective training content by applying your automotive technical knowledge.
+ Design and write web-based and instructor-led automotive technical training materials using both traditional as well as interactive learning solutions
+ Develop course outlines, storyboards, video and voice over scripts, job aids, and production direction notes
+ Create both new training and updates to existing OEM technical training courses
+ Support clients with development of strategic training roadmaps based on OEM vision and priorities, by learning the client’s business and product technology
+ Apply knowledge of eLearning principles and adult technical education to design engaging, interactive training
+ Demonstrate flexibility to adapt to differing OEM training styles, objectives and preferences for their training curriculum
+ Attend internal and client meetings (virtual is acceptable) as needed
+ Participate in multiple projects at a given time
+ Consistently deliver projects on time and within expectations
Qualifications:
+ 5+ years of automotive technical experience
+ 3+ years of automotive technical instructional design experience
+ Experience designing e-Learning and/or instructor-led training
+ Excellent writing and communication skills
+ Impeccable attention to detail and quality of work delivered
+ Dedication to client satisfaction, and a passion for automotive technical instruction
+ Ability to work in Microsoft PowerPoint and Word
+ Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and on time
+ Experience delivering instructor-led automotive technical training a plus
+ Based in Southern California a plus (but not mandatory). If residence is outside of Southern California, ability to travel occasionally to client site if needed.
