Principal Product Manager, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure - Oracle (California)

Lead a team that acts as the central resource and driving force for the design, process, manufacturing, test, quality and marketing of product(s) as they move from conception to distribution. Organize interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the project/product on schedule and within budget.

As a member of the product development division, you will analyze and integrate external customer specifications. Suggest and justify product directions and specifications. Specify, design and implement moderate changes to existing software architecture. Build new products and development tools. Build and execute unit tests and unit test plans. Review integration and regression test plans created by QA. Communicate with QA and porting engineering to discuss major changes to functionality.

Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience.

Responsibilities:

* Deliver high-quality product content for key channels to market (direct, indirect, online)

* Collaborate intensively with partners and Oracle product teams to deliver cohesive solutions with a clear value

* Influence Sales and Engineering as needed to maintain high quality and consistency

* Work closely with Sales, Product Management, Engineering, and Marketing to continuously improve customer engagement

This role has a focus on execution: You maintain a strong long-term vision that aligns with the product strategy, while being committed to improving the customer journey every step of the way. This requires a customer-focused professional with excellent interpersonal skills and a track record of success.

Preferred Candidate Attributes:

* Can succinctly articulate a compelling vision and clear value propositions for the Oracle cloud platform

* Strong theoretical and practical understanding of infrastructure as service technologies and customer needs (particularly at large companies, independent software vendors, services providers, professional services companies, and their end-users)

* Strong writing and creative skills. Exemplified ability to explain technical material to technical and business audiences. Experience crafting content including presentations, websites, landing pages, blogs, videos, architecture diagrams, product demonstrations, technical papers, and technical case studies.

* Deep technical knowledge of cloud infrastructure services and distributed systems to effectively collaborate with internal and external engineering teams

* Strong discernment in the context of Internet-based services to effectively engage with business leaders, analysts, press, and Oracle leadership

* Consistent record analyzing and acting upon existing and constantly evolving business needs

* Advocate, explain and balance the needs of technical and business partners

* Validated understanding of modern software development processes, including build, deployment, version control, monitoring, system reliability, etc. Software development experience is a plus, as is a deep understanding of developer requirements and problems surrounding this process.

* Prior experience with a major cloud platform is a strong plus

* Ability to lead without authority and comfortable with shifting priorities

Preferred Background:

* Experience in product management for cloud infrastructure services or enterprise infrastructure software

* Experience in a cloud service provider, enterprise ISV, or professional services go-to-market function

* Previously played an active role in a successful agile development environment and running product launch activities/content creation

* Bachelors in Engineering and Masters/MBA is required
