Your Role and Responsibilities

The role of the Offering Manager is responsible for maintaining a transparent comparison and evaluation of capabilities in the Cloud market. You'll own an IBM Cloud offering focused on the Government industry including cross discipline strategy, and will be accountable for enabling the Global Markets industry, Cloud GTM (go-to-market), GBS (Global Business Services) and GTS (Global Technology Services) channels as appropriate to drive commercial results of the offering.

Who You Are…

You possess a keen eye for key competitive differentiation and an overall understanding of our capabilities to increase IBM's “share of mind”. Leading market sensing and holistic analyses, you'll master competitors' offerings and portfolio to develop offering POV to align stakeholders through subject matter expert engagement with multiple teams. Both persuasive and technically conversant – ESPECIALLY interacting with Executive-level management – the Offering Manager will understand how the offering is positioned vs. key competitors - Enabling you to develop go-to-market strategy for the Cloud portfolio, tying it into the broader Hybrid Cloud strategy. + Identify and prioritize growth opportunities with supporting use cases mapped to the client journey

+ Lead identification of related requirements for offering/solution definition

+ Propose and validate solution/approach in alignment with clients/stakeholders

+ Drive requirements inclusion in roadmap and progression to delivery, oversee supporting business plan execution

+ Ensure design integrates both stakeholder and development feedback

+ Prioritize and negotiate requirements with other offering management groups, making trade-offs between capability and schedule

+ Drive cross-functional/cross-division/cross-unit collaboration to achieve consistency and risk mitigation

+ Lead planning for innovative GTM strategies - Converting technical positioning and value proposition into sales enablement and market messaging and content

+ Perform client feedback and market data analysis to dynamically iterate on solution/offering/approach for market segment

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

+ 10+ years' experience in Offering and/or Product Management

+ 5+ years' experience working in the Cloud and Governments industries

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

+ 10+ years of diverse work experience in more than one functional area such as research, engineering, product management, marketing, M&A and/or comms, etc.

+ Deep technical understanding of Cloud computing concepts, uses cases, and products

+ Strong comfort level of presenting material in large and small venues

+ Executive presence to counsel senior management regarding the market, competitive landscape and analyst outlook

+ Existing relationships with leading industry analysts/influencers in the cloud marketplace
