Tax Preparer - Robert Half Accountemps (California)
Tax firm seeks a Tax Preparer for a temporary assignment through mid-April. The Tax Preparer identifies tax credits and liabilities to ensure accurate and complete returns for individuals and small businesses.
Responsibilities:
-Interview clients and review financial records
-Compute taxes owed by following tax codes and regulations and ensure clients do not pay unnecessary taxes
-Prepare or assist in preparing simple to complex tax returns
-Use federal, state and local codes to ensure clients receive maximum benefits permitted by law
-Verify data on forms for accuracy
-Resolve customer complaints

Qualifications:
-1+ year prior experience preparing taxes
-Experience with tax software (Lacerte, ProSystems, Pro Series, Drake, etc.)
-Knowledge of tax laws, legal codes, precedents, government regulations and Internal Revenue Service rules
-Strong written and verbal communication as well as superior problem-solving abilities
