To manage, plan and direct all activities related to the maintenance of the entire facility. Support other departments in order for them to obtain their objectives in production and safety. Manage all financial responsibilities related to maintenance as well as all plant equipment to meet cost and efficiency objectives. This position will also drive the maintenance department to continuously improve its performance and contribute to lower the cost of production.

Manage, train, and provide necessary leadership support, mentoring, coaching, and counseling to ensure maintenance staff meets performance expectations as well establishing & managing professional development goals for each subordinate.

Administrative functions: Budget preparation, personnel evaluation, POR reporting, liaison support to other plants and group engineering and R & D programs. Manager all Maintenance costs.

Develop and implement policies, standards and procedures for the Maintenance and technical work performed in the department.

Provide technical support and expertise for the continuation of daily production activities as they pertain to the total process operation.

Provide recommendations for the development and attainment of major cost reduction programs or contracts as needed.

Plant operating efficiency, safety performance, spending control, number PMs performed, maintenance cost per pound, storeroom inventory, departmental headcount, machine and TEL shop backlog hours.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS B.S in Engineering is preferred with a minimum of 10 years management experience in a manufacturing operation with a minimum of 5 years in maintenance management.

Able to communicate effectively with all levels of employees from hourly to corporate management.

Working knowledge of cost control, purchasing and safety practices.

Knowledge and competence in use of personal computer and software including Microsoft, Excel, Macro View, BPCS and SAP background highly recommended and preferred.

Working environment includes the entire plant property - inside and outside.

The 24 hour operation requires the incumbent to respond whenever it is necessary.

Maintaining current knowledge of available and qualified outside resources, or developing qualified resources, to properly carry out major project activities.

Travel may be required periodically for training, systems updates, future systems integration and project meetings, particularly as solutions for automation are identified for plant implementation.

This position provides the technical expertise and leadership in all technical aspects of the manufacturing operation of the plant. The position is responsible and accountable for insuring the correct implementation of the I.G. group’s business plan as it pertains to this facility. This responsibility includes the assurance that the latest technology and systems are employed, and that the solutions provided are done in the most cost effective manner. Utilizing the available knowledge within the plant as well as any outside resources, the position provides complete technical analysis, and recommends courses of action for problem solving as well as process improvements. All maintenance activities are monitored to insure that all specification, scopes, and system applications are performed following not only internal regulations and policies, but also those of local, state, and federal agencies. Ensuring of proper maintenance practices are adhered to by all outside contractors employed by the plant.

This position requires extensive problem solving abilities in the daily “in-line” operation of a continuous flow operation. Delay in decisions is additional cost (downtime and scrap). Decisions must be prompt, decisive, and often without additional guidance. Decisions have a major impact on employees, product cost and plant expenses.
