Machinist/Shop Supervisor - Butler Machine - Tulelake, CA
Butler Machine is looking to add a highly motivated and organized Machinist/Shop Supervisorto its team.
The Farm Mechanic/Shop Supervisoris responsible for maintaining, diagnosing and repairing farm machinery and vehicles as well as managing shop employees and maintaining an organized workspace. The ideal candidate will maintain excellent communication streams with all shop employees and management in order to maximize safety and quality of work while meeting completion goals.
Duties:
-Respond to customer inquiries regarding product and service availability in a prompt, professional manner.
-Coordinate and oversee fabrication of specialty farm equipment based on customer requests.
-Place special orders as requested by customers.
-Maintain accurate records of sales and services provided.
-Provide invoice and sale receipt information to office staff on regular basis.
Requirements:
-Ability to effectively multitask in fast-paced, dynamic environment.
-Ability to maintain safe operations and work area by adhering to safety procedures.
-Ability to operate lathes, mills, presses and other machining equipment.
-Ability to weld and operate cutting torches.
-Ability to maintain equipment by completing preventative maintenance on a regular basis.
-Ability to use precision measuring instruments and basic hand tools.
-Ability to effectively communicate and interact with others in a professional, polite and efficient manner.
-Ability to read and/or interpret blueprints or verbal fabrication requests.
-Ability to perform mathematical calculations.
-Ability to comply with all company policies and procedures.
-Ability to utilize Microsoft Office programs, including but not limited to Word, Excel and Outlook.
-Ability to travel to company meetings and trainings as required.
-Ability to life 75 pounds without assistance.
- Must have acceptable Motor Vehicle status, with current driver’s license and ability to operate motor vehicle.
-Must arrive at work on time and ready to work, with a great attitude!
-Must have the ability to pass drug and alcohol tests
Preferences:
-Working knowledge of tooling for lathes and mills.
-Previous experience with welding and operation of common shop implements.
-Previous experience in an agricultural mechanical environment.
-Previous experience with customer service and basic sales management.
-Post-Secondary education in agricultural mechanics, mechanical engineering or other related fields.
-Understanding of bearings, hydraulic components and power transmission parts.
