We are looking for the right candidate to join our Property Operations Maintenance Team as a Maintenance Technician to assist the Maintenance Manager/Supervisor with maintaining the physical condition of the community.

This position is eligible for a $1,000 SIGN-ON BONUS*

*Offered for new associates hired into a full-time Maintenance Technician (Tech 2) or Lead Maintenance Technician (Tech 3) position. Candidate must start work between January 1, 2018 and March 31, 2018. Associate must complete 90 days of employment. Bonus must be paid back in full if candidate leaves organization within first 12 months of employment.

Responsibilities

The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for diagnosing maintenance issues, making repairs and ensuring that service requests are executed in a timely manner.

Qualifications

Qualified candidates must have the following experience:

2-3 years apartment maintenance or related field Basic appliance repair HVAC - only as allowed by law without EPA certification Basic plumbing Basic electrical (when no license is required) Drywall General carpentry Pool and spa care and other water features in a safe and sanitary manner (if required by community) Pest control (if required by community) Roofs and gutters Wallpaper/painting including use of paint sprayer Foundation/sidewalk Use of basic cleaning supplies and equipment AvalonBay conducts drug and background screening for all hires. Qualified applicants will be considered for employment consistent with the Los Angeles Fair Chance Ordinance and other applicable state and federal laws.
